Day Trip to TK Falls & Gulakamale Lake Bangalore | Tottikallu Waterfalls | TripDude

Thottikallu is a place near Bangalore off the Kanakapura road in the Bangalore Urban district which is famous for a falls called Thottikallu falls, more popularly known as TK falls. It is also known as 'SwarnaMukhi' water falls. SwarnaMukhi translates as 'Golden-Faced'. The route at Kagalpura (Kaggalipura) off the Bangalore - Kanakapura road will lead to a place called Byalemaradadoddi, from where a mud road leads to the falls. The place also has a small shrine. There is no entry to the Falls as it belongs to karnataka Forest Department and is considered as an elephant corridor hence its protected and entry of tourists is banned and trespassing are fined heavily The Gulakamale is big a Natural lake near Thottikallu falls. People visit here mainly for relaxing/picnic, photography, bird watching, cycling, walking... The place is serene and super calm. The lake is pretty clean as well.Clear waters and a nice spot to spot. Awesome location if you want a short early morning picnic followed by breakfast at MTR. Peaceful place in the countryside. If you go left, you can stop your vehicle there and start a wonderful hike, to TK falls. If you come in the early morning, you can see people fishing in a coracle. You can find goat trails. The water may not be safe as you will find a board saying "Beware of crocodiles". So, swimming is a big no. You can also find a lot of water birds. There may be snakes, broken glass pieces and sharp thorns along the lakeside. During monsoons, the lake swells and the excess water flows down to the lower grounds. You can even find birds nests on the northern side. At different times of the day, the lake looks very different due to the lighting.
